The full process — both sides
How WorkBank actually works.
Buyers post and scope, match a qualified supply chain, compare bids like-for-like, award, record and earn rebates. Suppliers get found, respond to tenders, win new clients and build a track record that travels with them. Walt drafts, checks and chases on both sides — and the human approves every step and owns the result.
One platform, two journeys.
The same recorded marketplace serves both sides. Buyers move from scope to award to rebate; suppliers move from a matched tender to a confirmed win on the record. At every step Walt supports — and the human approves.
Estimate, then post the package
Check the likely market cost first — a range built from real awarded packages — so you post with a realistic budget. Then post in minutes: the full guided wizard, or a 2-minute Quick Scope for simple works. Set the discipline, accreditations, region and deadline; Walt drafts the scope so nothing's missed. You review and post — nothing goes live on its own.
Match a qualified supply chain
Qualification gating notifies every firm on the platform that holds the certifications your package requires — and only those firms. Every response you get already meets your requirements, so there's no shortlisting call to make.
Shortlist and compare like-for-like
Walt normalises every bid to the same shape so you compare on equal terms. You make the call on who to invite, who to shortlist and who to award — Walt lays out the evidence, you decide.
Award, record and earn the rebate
Record the award in a click. Recorded spend earns the buyer a 2% rebate, builds an audit-ready evidence trail, and feeds the SME & social-value report — every award you record counts.
A matched tender lands
Register and upload your certifications, insurances and accreditations once. From then on you are notified about packages matching what you do — no noise, no missed opportunities because you weren't in someone's phone. A missing accreditation never hides work from you; it is something to put in place before award.
Build the whole bid with Walt
Walt opens a full bid workspace: he reads the entire ITT bundle and assesses the scope, reviews the contract, builds your programme and commercial (or critiques the ones you upload), drafts answers to the technical questions, and writes the offer letter — all grounded in your own past wins and material. He drafts and checks; he never posts, scores, signs or submits.
You approve, sense-check and submit
Review and edit every document, let Walt sense-check the pack covers the scope, then submit through WorkBank when it's right. You approve every word and own the result — Walt never submits on your behalf.
Outcome on the record
When the award is placed, both sides confirm it. Every confirmed delivery joins your recorded track record — jobs completed, repeat work, credential-checked status — and travels with you to the next buyer.
Three routes work takes onto the platform
Posted, gated, tendered, confirmed.
A package goes live and every subscribed supplier holding the required certifications is notified instantly — and only them. No shortlisting calls, no six-company shortlists. Interested firms express interest; the buyer issues tenders; the award is confirmed by both sides. Seeing and bidding on packages is part of a Solo subscription; a one-off, capped introduction fee applies only the first time a supplier wins from a new buyer.
Requirement-first matched search.
The buyer defines the package requirements — discipline, accreditations, PI level, region — and the platform returns capability-matched profiles, with any accreditation gap named against the firm rather than used to hide it. The buyer selects the firms; invitations are issued; contact details release only to invited suppliers. There is no requirement-free browsing and no harvestable directory. Every search is logged against a posted requirement; the invited list is stored.
Recorded in under two minutes.
Award to suppliers you already know — including relationships that never started on WorkBank. Select the supplier, attach package details, done. Choosing this route triggers an automatic VFM benchmark statement where the comparison pool permits — single-source justification, ready for audit. Recorded spend earns the buyer a 2% rebate and feeds the SME & social-value report.
Walt builds the whole bid with you.
Winning the work is the hard part. When a tender lands, Walt opens a full bid workspace and works through it stage by stage — drafting where it helps, critiquing what you upload, and always handing back to you to approve.
Assess the ITT
Walt reads the entire tender bundle — scope, technical questionnaire, commercial template and the rest — and lays out every deliverable, the discipline split, the key dates and exactly what you must return.
Review the contract
He flags the commercial and contractual risks worth knowing before you commit — payment terms, liabilities, programme pressure — in plain English.
Programme — draft or critique
Let Walt build a logic-linked delivery programme, or upload your own and have him critique it against the ITT — sequencing, float, milestone coverage and resourcing.
Commercial — draft or critique
Walt drafts a first-pass estimate from your own rate card and past work, or reviews the pricing you upload for completeness, arithmetic and compliance. He never invents a price.
Quality Questions
He drafts a grounded answer to every technical question, pulled from your real track record — and flags, rather than fills, anything the evidence doesn't yet cover.
Offer letter, sense-check, submit
Walt assembles your offer letter and response pack, sense-checks it covers the whole scope, and hands it to you to approve and submit. He never submits on your behalf.
Grounded — won't invent
Walt works only from your real documents and the live tender. Where something's missing he flags the gap rather than guessing.
Learns from your own wins
He builds on your past winning bids — your house style, your approach, your commercial baseline. Never anyone else's work.
Walt's brain
Your profile, house rules and document library feed every draft, so it reads like your firm wrote it — and gets sharper the more you add.
Score it once. Prove it on every bid.
Social value is now central to public procurement — typically 10–20% of the marks. WorkBank uses the National TOMS framework so it's evidenced, not invented, on both sides of the deal.
Your Social Value Score, in 10 minutes.
Tell Walt about your business in a short conversation. He calculates a TOMS-aligned score per £1m of turnover and a Bronze, Silver or Gold tier, then produces a shareable certificate you can include in any tender.
- ✓ Improvement advice with real partner links — exactly where to lift your score
- ✓ A Carbon Reduction Plan assistant for PPN 06/21 contracts
- ✓ Walt reuses your score to strengthen the social-value response on every bid
Supply-chain social value, reported automatically.
Every supplier on WorkBank completes a TOMS assessment. When you award a package, the social value generated is calculated for you — no chasing spreadsheets.
- ✓ A live supply-chain Social Value dashboard across all your awards
- ✓ A one-click Supply Chain Social Value Report, ready to share with your end client

A market, not a directory.
The supply chain doesn't need a list of names. It needs a market — one where work reaches qualified firms, credentials are tracked once and trusted everywhere, awards are recorded by both sides, and every delivery builds a permanent, portable reputation. Time is saved at every stage: qualification matching replaces shortlisting calls, credential tracking replaces document re-collection, and recorded awards replace manual compliance reporting.
Opportunity posting with qualification-gated notification
Every registered firm that meets the certification requirements for a package is notified automatically. No calls, no favourites, no firms missed because they weren't in the PM's phone.
Credentials tracked once, applied everywhere
Upload your certifications once. WorkBank tracks completeness and expiry, and sends renewal reminders before anything lapses. No more re-sending the same documents to every new buyer.
The whole supply chain in one place
Buyers discover firms outside their existing network. Underutilised suppliers find work that fits their capacity. The market can finally see itself.
Dual-source award confirmation builds permanent records
The buyer records the outcome; the supplier confirms. A recorded delivery record is created for both sides — the foundation of a track record that travels with you.
Every award recorded means every award counted
Towards SME spend reports, VFM audit evidence, a recorded supply-chain track record, and a public profile that compounds with every delivery. Recording everything is how both sides get more from the platform.
That's WorkBank. Here's why it's worth joining.
Built for both sides of the market.
Get paid for work you'd never have reached
Every award through WorkBank generates a new revenue stream — no cold calls, no existing relationships required.
Qualification-matched notifications
Get alerted the moment a package matching what you do goes live. If the buyer asks for an accreditation you do not hold yet, you still see the work and can still bid — you are told what to have in place before award.
Credential tracking, maintained once
Credentials are reviewed on submission — document completeness checked, expiry dates tracked, and renewal reminders sent before anything lapses. Stop re-sending the same documents to every new buyer.
Walt drafts your bid — you approve every word
Walt reads the tender pack, drafts a structured response from your profile and past wins, and chases what's outstanding. He never posts, scores, signs or submits on his own. You review, edit and submit — and you own the result.
Free to be found; Solo to bid
Creating a profile and being found by buyers is free. Expressing interest and bidding are part of a Solo subscription. A one-off introduction fee — published in full — applies only when you win your first award from a new buyer.
A track record that compounds
Every confirmed delivery adds to your public profile — technical quality, programme, communication, health & safety. The more you deliver through WorkBank, the stronger your market position becomes.
SME status that works for you
Declare your SME status once. Your recorded spend feeds the annual SME & social-value report issued to every buyer — making you part of how they evidence their commitments.
Earn the WorkBank Trusted Contractor badge
Every confirmed award is portable proof of supply-chain performance — recorded delivery and repeat work you can point to in proposals, tenders and email signatures.
Know whether the work is secured before you commit
Every package shows whether the main contract is already won or still at bid stage. Bid-stage packages are clearly flagged — you decide how much resource to commit before the client has a contract to place.
Post work as well as win it
Every WorkBank account can work both sides — no separate account, no switching. Win a multi-disciplinary package and you can spawn child packages to find the specialists you need: at that point you're the buyer, the posting subscription applies, and you earn the rebate on the spend you record downstream. Winning work never costs a subscription — only posting does.
Share in the platform's success
WorkBank pays you a rebate on every repeat or direct award you record through the platform — the system pays you back for using it correctly. Recorded spend carries a 3% supplier fee, with up to the full 3% rebated to you (rising with your tier) on itemised, auditable statements, settled quarterly.
Walt drafts packages and compares bids — you decide
Walt drafts each package from your scope and normalises every bid to the same shape so you compare like-for-like. He lays out the evidence and chases confirmations; the award decision is always yours.
Direct award benchmarking — Assurance tier
Every recorded award builds an audit-ready procurement evidence trail. With the Assurance tier, direct awards come with benchmark statements drawn from comparable recorded packages — data to support your value-for-money judgement and single-source justifications.
Post once, reach every qualified firm
Stop tendering to the same six companies. Qualification gating notifies every firm on the platform that holds the certifications your package requires — and only those firms — or run a selective tender to a shortlist you choose.
Your package, your route
Open the market, invite a qualified shortlist, or record a direct award — open, selective and direct routes all feed the same recorded ledger, reports and rebate.
Live credential visibility across your supply chain
Certificate and insurance expiry tracking across your recorded suppliers, with lapse alerts before someone uncertified turns up on a live site.
Record direct awards in under two minutes
Award to suppliers you already know — including relationships that never started here — and record it: select supplier, attach package details, done. The recorded ledger does the rest.
ESG and SME reporting — automated
Your annual SME spend report, formatted for client returns, prequalification responses and ESG disclosures, compiled automatically from every recorded award. No spreadsheets. No manual tracking.
Three routes. One record.
Open market notifies every qualified firm automatically. Selective invitation lets you run a requirement-first matched search and issue invitations to chosen firms — with no requirement-free browsing and no harvestable contact list. Direct award records existing relationships in under two minutes and generates a VFM benchmark statement. Every route feeds the same compliance trail.
Multi-disciplinary cascade — no fees until you win
Working at bid stage on a multi-disciplinary package? Spawn child packages for constituent disciplines. Bid-support mode means matching and structured quotes only — no fees, no award mechanics — until your main contract is won. WorkBank is the acquisition channel you use while you're bidding, not just after.
Built so both sides want every award recorded.
A fair question: how does WorkBank know when work has been awarded? We don't police it — we make recording the award the thing both sides benefit from, and we never invoice an unconfirmed event.
Enforcement that uses money WorkBank already holds
Outcomes not recorded within the window forfeit the buyer's 2% rebate accrual on that package. Persistent non-reporting forfeits the settlement quarter. WorkBank holds the rebate balance — there is nothing to invoice and nothing to collect. It is the cleanest enforcement mechanism available.
Dual-source confirmation, silence acceptance
The buyer records the outcome in one click — including honest non-award outcomes: delayed (with a new date), cancelled, or awarded off-list. The supplier confirms in one click. If the supplier does not respond within 14 days of an unchallenged buyer report, the award is treated as confirmed and the fee invoice proceeds. Fees are never auto-triggered — they arise from a confirmed event.
The posting gate and the rebate
Packages unresolved 60days past their current stated award date pause new posting, with a human follow-up. Late reporting also puts the buyer's 2% rebate accrual at risk — the platform's first response is always product friction and withheld benefits. Full reporting obligations are set out in the Terms of Use.
The Trusted Contractor badge and benchmark access are withheld
Accounts with unresolved packages past the posting gate lose access to the Trusted Contractor badge and VFM benchmark statements. Both reinstate automatically on resolution — enforcement starts with withheld value, and full obligations are set out in the Terms of Use.
Contact details release through invitations and EOIs only
There is no open, searchable supplier directory with contact details to harvest. In open-market packages, contact details release through the expression-of-interest flow. In selective invitations, contact details release only to the suppliers the buyer has chosen to invite. Profiles stay public as marketing assets — without the contact layer.
A published tariff, everywhere
Every fee, rebate and split is published and visible to all participants. Every rebate statement is itemised and auditable. WorkBank has nothing to explain that isn't already on its pricing page.
Free to be found; Solo to bid
Creating a credential-checked profile and being found by buyers is free. Seeing and being notified of work, expressing interest and bidding are a Solo subscription. A one-off, capped introduction fee applies only when you win your first award from a new buyer. Buyers pay a subscription, recovered in full through the 2% rebate on recorded spend.
One published schedule, all work types
3% of awarded value up to £100k, 2% above, capped at £10,000 — the same rate card whether the package is design, consultancy or site delivery. Full schedule in the pricing section below.
Fees switch on only once the market is real
The schedule is published from day one, but no introduction fee is charged until the platform reaches 25 confirmed awards. Founding suppliers are fee-free for their first 12 months.
3% on recorded repeat & direct work — half rebated to the buyer
Recorded repeat and direct-award spend carries a 3% fee: 1% retained by WorkBank as the platform service fee and 2% rebated to the buyer, settled quarterly. Published in advance — suppliers price it in like any other cost of sale.
Buyers: nothing to dodge
Buyers pay a subscription, never a fee on award — so there is no buyer-side fee to circumvent. The buyer's reasons to record everything are positive ones: the 2% rebate on recorded spend, the SME & social-value report, the compliance audit trail, and portfolio monitoring — all of which count recorded awards only.
† Credential tracking, not auditing. WorkBank collects and tracks the documents you upload — including certifications, insurances and accreditations — and monitors their expiry dates. WorkBank does not independently audit, inspect, or certify any supplier's qualifications or capability. All parties must conduct their own due diligence before entering into any contract. See our Terms of Use for full details.
Get found, win work, and earn on what you record.
Join the founding cohort. Suppliers: free for 12 months, no win no fee, and fees don't switch on until the market is real. Buyers: a founding badge, an advisory-board seat and first access. Walt does the heavy lifting — you approve every step.
