Outcome: Delivered on programme; structured inherited-design review caught two buried structures missed by the prior designer.

Waterbeach Station Platform – P-Way Detail Design
Scope: ES5 Track Design including permanent designs, gauging and AFC package; GRIP 6 support (TQs and RFIs); GRIP 7 & 8 As-builts. Production of fully compliant Track Form B, AFC and As-built drawings for relocated Waterbeach Station Up and Down lines. Scope included condition-led assessment, ClearRoute 2 gauging (Class 755 included), 3D discipline co-ordination model, ballast assessment, lift and slue design (max 62 mm Down / 21 mm Up lift; max 30 mm Down / 13 mm Up slew), staged tamping schedule, WinALC geometry files, XML setting-out strings, and on-site AFC verification checks.
Challenge: Close-out of DRN 17317.1 comments including removal of high-rail lowering, avoidance of worsening non-compliant six-foot relatives at tie-ins, inclusion of Class 755 in gauging, application of GIRT7020 +10 mm construction tolerance with GI/RT7073 clearance band adjustments, and confirmation of signal CA236/CA237 gauging. Integration with Greater Cambridge Partnership, Royal London Waterbeach Estates and Cambridge Re-signalling (C3R) programme.
Outcome: Fee proposal submitted to The Spencer Group; design-only role confirmed. On-site tamping CRE and setting-out engineer available as additional opportunity.
